Hi! I am Michael, a Valley Christian student who is interested in STEM and educating others.

Things I Like

Arduino Uno R4

Being a Maker

Whenever I have a random idea, and it seems possible, I figure out how to build it :3. Like this WordPress site, I wondered how hard it is to build a free website so I just did. I like the Arduino(except for pricing…) ecosystem, and Pi. Although I am starting to dive in deeper and experiment with other microcontrollers ᕦ(ò_óˇ)ᕤ

ValleyTori

I believe that educating people is really important, and that the world would be a much better place with education. So I founded ValleyTori, a free STEM but aiming to expand into more aspects education startup in Silicone Valley, hoping to bring assistive education to prevent students from getting confused and from a single class falling behind.

Automation

Yeah I pulled this off of Google’s first page, so credits to “Process Excellence Network”, but I think automation and designing systems is really cool. For example, like a drone that can count birds so we can track year over year population and prioritize conservation resources, or cheaper recycling so we can keep people out of dangerous industries and improve the environment while helping consumers and employees alike.

Cool things I did

Bellarmine Summer Robotics

I was interested in STEM before their summer program, but after the VEX class I became really interested in robotics. Our team got second, only due to overheating motors, and as a major contributor I really liked how things were and wanted to continue.

MATE ROV Scout

In the Valley Christian Junior High’s MATE ROV Scout program, our school had multiple teams setup for the MATE competition. We had to build an ROV, which turned out to be half easy half difficult. Our team placed alright, and got an award for our engineering presentation, but most important of all we learned teamwork and time management.

SGC Sandbox and Pico CTF

These were two smaller cybersecurity competitions, that I participated as team lead of CyberClashers with my friends, as a part of Valley’s Cyberquest team. We got 3rd for SGC, and 174 out of over 4,000 active teams for Pico(but over 9,000 teams total, although many did not compete). I learned about core cybersecurity concepts, and team management as we competed against other high school students and collage students.
